Marianna Malardyrova

About the Artsist:

Marianna has been working with mammoth ivory for nearly 10 years, creating jewellery that blends tradition and nature. She began carving out of curiosity after seeing the work of master artisans, and quickly realised the process itself brought her joy and purpose.

Her pieces often feature birds, a symbol of strength and protection in Sakha culture, small carvings that serve as reminders of inner support and the enduring strength of past generations. Each material has its own story: cracks, density, and colour guide her hands, helping the piece come alive with energy and character.

Growing up near the Vilyui River, Marianna feels her craft is a gift passed through generations. A childhood memory of her father crafting an extraordinary mammoth ivory knife inspired her confidence to pursue this path, and today she continues to bring ancient materials to life through her work.
